It has been confirmed that Open AI fast time released their two open-weight AI reasoning models which are available in Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker. The news was confirmed by the AWS youtube channel.Those models are gpt-oss-120b and gpt-oss-20b models which are designed for coding, scientific analysis, and mathematical reasoning.Those models also ensure that your data is over controlled by you and completely safe.
However the information suggests that the new AI models are available under Apache 2.0 free software license which allows any cloud provider to offer them. The new AI model also has the ability to support a 128K context window and also has the ability to support external tools which make it more efficient for the customer.
The news also indicates that those models run locally, which 20b fits on a laptop and 120b runs with single GPU. Now those open AIs make custom work more easy.
AWS also reveals that open-weight models are 10 times more costly than model and 8 times more than DeepSeek R1, and seven times over OpenAI’s o4 model. So it indicates that the new open AI weight models are quite costly but it has more helpful then other AI models.
